Alrighty, it’s been a while since Celtx 2.9 has been released, and I was very excited to download and try it out 🙂
Obviously, this meant I had to update my Celtx.jar file to work in the new version, so I spent a good amount of time merging changes.
I used WinMerge for this process, a very cool free tool, and it was rather painless, and things all seem to be working… I even took a little time to analyze the Screenplay Reports section, in the hopes of implementing my sought-after Budget Report.
Sadly, I’m stuck on the latter for the time being, because although I figured out where/how to modify Script Reports, the Budget Report needs to come under the Scheduling module, and that module is a little harder to understand… but I’m still looking.
I described my feature on this post in the Celtx forums, so if you have any ideas/pointers, let me know 🙂
In the meantime, feel free to download my new Celtx.jar for Celtx 2.9, and if you haven’t downloaded Celtx yet — do — I stopped using Final Draft in favor of Celtx, and haven’t looked back 🙂
Val Gameiro’s Mods for Celtx 2.9
You’ll need a utility to unzip 7z format (e.g. download 7Zip)
I tested my mods in Windows XP, Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 10.10 Netbook Remix, and they worked fine 🙂
Let me know how it works for you!

What up Val,
I have a question about the new 2.9.1 mods, it seems your updated mod deletes the NOVEL from being one of the options? Has this happened to you at all?
Hi Miquiel,
I haven’t upgrade my mods to 2.9.1 so I haven’t run into this issue.
I did notice a couple of mods no longer work in 2.9 and I have to fix those. In my version I see the Novel option.
I’ll post an update when I have that fixed.
