You know, I would say for the most part I’m of a conservative frame of mind.
I don’t believe in government spending (although I do believe in people spending), but I don’t believe in printing trillions of dollars for the benefits of huge corporations.
I believe a man has a right to work and not be penalized for doing well. I don’t agree with the majority of taxes the government uses to double and triple dip us.
I also don’t believe the government should have the right to control or regulate something as sacred as marriage, nor as personal as abortion.
Now, whereas I am 100% pro-life and pro-personal responsibility — you make a mistake, you make it right — I certainly do not believe the government should have the power to tell us how to live our lives.
Marriage is a personal and religious thing – another divine right, which governments see fit to control.
If two people of the same sex want to get married, who are we to curtail that right?
Same with abortion — and again, I believe babies are spiritually aware even before conception (spiritual beings are always aware) — the government should not have the right to pass laws and tells us how to live.
Same as homeschooling — the government shouldn’t force us to live THEIR way, nor force us to send our kids to their indoctrination centers where we have little say in what they get to learn (and pledge allegiance).
Why should I enforce my beliefs on you? Why should you enforce your beliefs on me? We can certainly discuss and exchange ideas, but not force… we are not bullies… but it seems the government likes to be.
But enough about me… what do YOU think?
