Bobby Sargent – my friend, the fall guy

Like many of you, I’m sure, I had never heard of Bobby Sargent. One of the legendary stunt people from Hollywood, the kind that you see all the time but don’t realize you’re seeing. The kind that do the unthinkable, what appears extremely dangerous and in some cases is, and go on to liven up even the dreariest of films (when done right).

I’ve spent the last 2 years watching him teach other people to do what he does, not for profit, not for status or a pat in the back, but because he truly loves what he does.

In that time, I’ve learned a lot more than just stunts from him, or how to position the camera to get the best shot from different fight moves. I’ve learned about the film business, and how it works. I’ve met some really cool people who live and work in that business which we call entertainment.

I’ve learned how to do some crazy stunts like setting people on fire, and I watched him direct the action scenes of my feature film about human trafficking (www.AmnesiaTheMovie.com); saw him fly people through the air in preparation for the TXMPA Halloween fundraiser of 2012.

But I’ve seen that man do more than just screen magic. I’ve seen him care about the people around him, and step in where others might shy away, and lend a hand; and I’ve seen him stand up to injustices.

And now, through the words of fellow stuntman, Bob Ivy, let me introduce you to Bobby Sargent:
